The Fort Humboldt Visitor Center is run strictly by volunteers. As such, the hours and days open may vary.
Come in and browse our great selection of local history and Native American books. Learn about the history of this forgotten fort and the many interesting people who once called it home, like U.S. Grant, and General George Crook, just to name a few!
All proceeds go to help fund interpretive and educational programs for Fort Humboldt and the other spectacular parks of the North Coast! |

Patrick's Point Visitor Center |

The Patrick's Point Visitor Center is a must stop for any visitor to this wonderful seaside and forested park. Come in and talk to one of our many knowledgeable volunteers or staff members who will do their utmost to direct you to the many splendors and activities this park has to offer.
The visitor center has a wide array of books covering everything from local trails, flora and fauna, and local history. All the proceeds from our sales go into the support of the interpretive and educational programs offered throughout North Coast parks. |

Stone Lagoon Visitor Center |

The Stone Lagoon Visitor Center is located on Stone Lagoon, just one of the many "Pearls of the North Coast". Stone Lagoon offers the avid bird watcher superb opportunities to obsrve various waterfowl. The lagoon is directly beneath the Pacific flyway and many migratory birds stop for a visit.
You may also observe many types of wildlife, from Roosevelt elk, river otters and even whales from out on the spit.

Prairie Creek Visitor Center |

The Prairie Creek Visitor Center is located in Prairie Creek Redwoods State Park, in the old Civilian Conservation Corp dormitory. Come in and learn about the history of this Old Growth Redwood park, the animals and plants found here, and the many miles of trails to explore!

Tolowa Dunes Visitor Center |
After a tragic fire, the Tolowa Dunes Visitor Center is scheduled to be rebuilt and hopefully open again in the summer of 2010. |

Jedediah Smith Visitor Center |

The Jedediah Smith Redwoods Visitor Center is nestled in the northern redwoods near the Smith river. In the summer, you may find the visitor center open late serving hot chocolate after an educational or fun campfire program.
